Dr Quentin Stafford-Fraser is a co-founder and former CEO and Chief Scientist of DisplayLink, and has also co-founded other ventures including Ndiyo and Exbiblio B.V, before setting up Cambridge Visual Networks at the start of 2007. Quentin was one of the inventors of the webcam, and a developer of the VNC software now found on many millions of machines worldwide. He has held research posts at Cambridge University, Xerox, Olivetti & AT&T, and has a long-held interest in visual-based interaction between humans and machines.
Dr Michael Dales has over eight years of experience in R&D, both in industry and academia, focusing primarily on systems and networking. Prior to joining Camvine, Michael was a Senior Researcher at the Intel Research lab in Cambridge, UK, working predominantly on novel high speed optical network designs as part of a large interdisciplinary research project. Before that he worked on distributed Internet measurement systems as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory.
Brian Boakes has many years of experience in, and an encyclopaedic knowledge of, the digital signage, media, broadcast and content distribution worlds. Brian held senior marketing and business development posts at several of the other key players in the industry before joining Camvine as our Director of Sales and Marketing.
Professor John Naughton is an academic, a journalist and a consultant on technology and technology policy to both governments and business. With a background in Systems Engineering, he is Professor of the Public Understanding of Technology at the Open University and a Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge. He is the author of A Brief History of the Future and writes the weekly ‘Networker’ column in the London Observer.
Henry Happel was a founding partner of Mundt MacGregor LLP, a Seattle, Washington law firm, where he practiced corporate and commercial law from 1976 until 2001. Since leaving Mundt MacGregor, Henry has served and on the board of various technology companies including Advanced Robotic Vehicles, Inc., Exbiblio and DisplayLink. Henry received a B.A. in Economics from Yale University in 1967 and a law degree from Stanford University in 1970.
John Martyn is a chartered accountant and business advisor who has worked in a variety of companies in the UK and abroad, from small high-technology startups to larger multinationals. Amongst other posts, John has been the CFO of Geneva Technology, of Convergys (EMEA), and of DisplayLink.
Sarah McKeon has a background as an editor and product manager in online publishing with Analysys Research and ProQuest in Cambridge. More recently she has worked in project management in the education and hi-tech arena.
Garry Bodsworth is a seasoned software professional with several years of experience in the CAD/CAM industry, having worked for a number of Cambridge companies such as NC Graphics, Vero International Software and Parametric Technology Corporation. He is also an active member in various computer groups around Cambridge.
Martin Waddell is a consultant focusing on retail and advertising in the UK and Europe. Before joining Camvine he was Managing Director for Pierhouse In-touch, delivering digital signage (DS) services to Waitrose and leading Pierhouse’s DS partnership with BT. He has extensive experience of channel creation and below-the-line messaging.
Steve Hales carries out UK business development in the commercial and advertising sectors as well as in healthcare and education. Steve was formerly CEO at Cambridge Fluid Systems where he led a successful business turnaround. He is Founder and CEO of Sapien Innovations Limited and holds an MBA (with Distinction) from Warwick Business School.
