Retail Digital Networks partners with Camvine to deliver digital media promotions in garden centres
Retail Digital Networks (RDN), the world’s leading digital media network owner and operator in garden centres, has appointed Camvine as its content management and technology partner to support the development of its Gardening TV media network.
RDN, which also owns and manages digital advertising networks in post offices, health clubs and hairdressing salons, was faced with a challenge of cost-effectively scaling the growth of its network. In addition to providing advertising space to local businesses, RDN was also looking to develop a digital media platform that would appeal to national and international brands.
Speaking about the partnership, Richard Mann (RDN’s CEO) explained:
“In order to support the specific audience targeting needs of national and international brand campaigns, we needed a technology partner who could provide a scaleable system that could be deployed easily, and a sophisticated content scheduling capability that enabled content targeting to specific zones in many sites.
Camvine's CODA system does just that. The installation process is simple, which is vital for garden centres where screens can be far apart. Also, content, garden centres and specific zones within garden centres can all be easily ‘tagged’, so scheduling content to multiple zones is an efficient and straightforward task.”
In the UK alone, RDN currently has over 240 screens in 43 tier-1 garden centres. These include two of the UK’s largest flagship garden centres – Le Friquet Plant Centre in Guernsey (part of the Blue Diamond Group) and Bents Garden Centre in Cheshire (voted Best Garden Centre 2009 by the Garden Centre Association).
